Kill the journalist and you kill the story. At least, that's the theory.
Special Agent Duncan Gallant of the CIA is tasked with assassinating Clay Kendrick, a mild-mannered reporter for the Periodic Globe. A list of CIA agents and their aliases has fallen into Kendrick's hands and he is about to publish it in an act of transparency. As part of the operation, Gallant must also retrieve this list before it goes to print. Publishing it will cost the lives of CIA agents and the good they do in keeping America safe. Making things even more personal, Gallant's name is on that list. Helping Gallant is another agent, Sharp, who is as baffled as Gallant is when hits don't end up working out the way they should. Then again, a certain immortal savior is part of the reason for failure.
-Why does Megaguy wear tights?
-So people don’t look at his face!
Megaguy -- alien, superhero, and pillar of justice -- stays out of the CIA's way most of the time. He can't allow one of his favorite protectorates to be killed this time. Even Lester Lutz can't stay silent from his prison cell and laughs at Gallant's foolish quest. Attempt after attempt fail but Gallant can't let anything stand in his way, whether it be Megaguy, Kendrick's luck, or the strange things happening on this op. To save the world, all Gallant has to do is assassinate the mild-mannered reporter!
