in the doghouse

The other day, my wife was taking a nap. I was getting a few things done around the house and Jynx wanted outside. The dogs were inside napping on the couch.

That night, we were heading to some friends’ house, and I needed to feed the kids before we left. The dogs were easy to take care of since they were right there. When I went to look for the cat, I couldn’t find him. Finally, I turned toward the doghouse. A pillow had been in there for Zailey since she has been having hip issues. Check out the picture to see where the cat was and his relationship with said pillow.

For over a decade, our family has had a very reliable car. If you lock the doors with the key in the ignition, the doors unlock. That car was totaled in April, and we got a different vehicle this summer.

I’m still working on the ins and outs with this vehicle. Apparently, it will allow a key to be in the ignition when you lock the car. I discovered this in Wichita at the Ren Fest. Had a great day and weekend selling books but had to pay a tow truck driver to unlock my car, so that ate my entire profit for the weekend. Ouch!

Some of us willingly go to the doghouse, but we aren’t all dogs and cats. Guess I need to pack a spare key when I go out of town!
